I have been thinking today about some commonly held misconceptions about God. I think because recently I have seen on the news so much natural catastrophe and crisis. In addition, I have felt the sting of difficult surprising news that left me feeling a little bit shaky and wondering what so many wonder in times of crisis. . . . “God? Wow! It feels like it has been forever since I have blogged here. I’ve been keeping very busy, and there has been a lot going on in my life that has changed my direction of focus . . . . “the mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” God works in times and seasons, and I have been waiting on His timing to begin pressing in to my music again. I love this time of year! With all the bustling around and festivity, it seems even heaven joins into the celebration with the soft falling snow. This Christmas season has been a little bit different for me, because I have some children who are grown and moved away now, so when the holidays roll around, I need to start climbing into the closets for extra blankets and sheets. As you know, my first two CD’s were recorded in my first two years of playing the harp. At that time, I had both limited skill and funds to record, so they do reflect what I was actually playing in a very true to life way. Since that time, I have developed my music a little further and have been very blessed to have a husband take interest in learning and developing the skill of recording and mastering music. (more…)

I am happy to announce that the recording of Heaven and Nature Sing was successfully completed and is in the process of being printed and duplicated now. If all goes well, I am anticipating it will be available on this site by the last week of November. Please check back again soon as I am also in the process of creating a demo audio sample for this site so you will be able to hear what it sounds like. Many of these traditional Christmas songs were carried down by tradition from as early as the 15th century and the original authors are unknown. All of the arrangements of these songs are originally written by Barbara Jo Mullen. Both Dancin’ in a New Dress and Light of the World were written and arranged by Barbara Jo Mullen. This album was recorded and produced by Bob Mullen. In addition, the photography used on the cover design was done by Bob Mullen.
